My space or our space?

Assalamualaikum peepers and stalkers :D

Even though I call you guys that but let me tell you that there's this vast soft spot I harbor for my readers.

So actually right now I'm in the car;; travelling to Chini which is not my kampung but since my grandma's there so yeah... I suck at explaining things -..-;

I have a quite big house. I had been inside a flat before and couldn't help bit feel a little bit thankful of my family's economical strength.

My house is a two-storey semi-d that have dual tones for the different levels. We have a large family area with a tv and a computer set up there.. And not much of a dining area;; but two dinner tables:: one in the kitchen and one right smack under a fan.

We barely ever use the living room;; because we don't really have any guests over other than my extended family;; and the adults always hang out in the back area where there was set up a set of table and chairs for relaxation purposes.

That's just the ground level. On the second storey we have 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. The master bedroom is tremondously HUUUUUGE;; it's like 9 rooms the size of our bedrooms.

Mine can only fit in a single bed;; a wardrobe (I love that invention. I'm SURE the inventor is a feminist that believes in the exceercise of female rights to have as much clothes they can. As long as they don't go broke because of it...);; a legless Ikea study desk;; and a bookcase (I feel so intelligent just having it in my room ^.^).

I have everything of mine inside my room. I don't even put my books back on the bookcases outside my room since I have my own. And I can study in my room since I do have a study desk there.

During school holidays sometimes I didn't come out from my room for days. I'm easy to satisfy;; gimme a good book or a drawing block and a soft tip pen and Imma be good for a week!

And even if I come out I'll find out the house to be unbelievably empty since it's not just me that who's in love with her room;; all my other siblings are too. Even my parents like to keep to themselves.

That's how it is before I went to Jordan. There I have to share a room with a senior;; and the other two seniors kept coming inside our rooms to swap stories and folklores;; and it was not that big so we keep seeing each other every ten minutes.

I turn right;; whoa I didn't see you there Jira-san! I turn left;; Tika-san be careful when you walk won't you?! Even when I turn back around;; Nu-san are you going to the kitchen to cook??

I was a frigging loner without the piercings and the eyeliners;; so it took me a while to get used to the everybody knows everybody's business environment there. Sometimes it feels so suffocating I don't even remember how to brrathe. There was this one day I was so high-strung and had to plaster on a fake smile and reciting "It's okay;; you can use my stuff" over and over again.

But after I came back to Malaysia I started to feel that my house is too big.

I felt alone sitting in my room;; and started pestering my little sisters whereas before I didn't really bring myself to care cause I was lazy.

So the questions is;; what made a group of people a family?

Is it because we live under the same roof?

Or is it because we share things together?
